Courtyard Garden Design Kensington

Imposing period brick walls surround each side of this London courtyard garden that posed both a challenge and an asset. The busy owners needed a low maintenance space with room to chill out, storage for garden essentials and lots of lush evergreen planting. A palm tree was high on the priority list as a focal point from the Kitchen. The walls had unusual square alcoves so the design incorporated two sections of living wall and the brickwork was used to frame the plant selection. The green walls make stunning textural canvases particularly at night when the garden lighting casts shadows across the walls. A bespoke western red cedar storage cupboard makes the most of an otherwise unused awkward corner space and a bench was designed to add a new function to a retaining wall. Visit Garden Club London Main Website Here…
